Maggie Grace, born Margaret Grace Denig on 21 September of 1983 in Worthington, Ohio is an American actress. She is famous for her role as Shannon Rutherford and Kim Mills and Kim Mills on ABC's Lost TV show. The couple had separated and she moved with her mom in Los Angeles. In the midst of financial hardship, she got her first role as the title character in the video on-demand show Rachel's Room in 2001. The actress was able to secure a Young Artist Award nomination in 2002 with her portrayal of the 15 year old murder victim Martha Moxley in the television movie Murder set in Greenwich. Grace Rutherford's character in Lost between 2004 and 2005, was selected for a Screen Actors Guild Award. After leaving the show, Grace wanted to appear as a film actress, and had played opposite Tom Welling in The Fog in 2005. She appeared in Suburban Girl The Jane Austen Book Club (both 2007) and opposite Liam Neeson as Kim Mills in Taken in 2008. The role was reprised in Taken 2 (2012) and Taken 3 (2014).She played the leading role in Alice in Malice in Wonderland a modern version of Lewis Carroll's classic novel Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Grace played the role of Shannon in Lost and the final episode. The year was 2013, and she appeared in the sixth series of Californication. She portrays Faith as a groupie, and also a muse to the stars that catches the interest of Hank Moody played by David Duchovny. She belongs to the Gyllenhaal clan as well as the sister to Jake Gyllenhaal. In her early teens She appeared in small roles in films made by her father. She also was co-starring with her brother in Donnie Darko which is a cult classic. The year 2002 saw her was featured as a character on Adaptation Confessions of a Dangerous Mind. She also appeared in Mona Lisa Smile (2003). Gyllenhaal was praised by critics in both of her roles as a lead character of Secretary (2002) as well as in Sherrybaby (2006), which is an erotic romantic drama and Sherrybaby (2006). In 2006, she was also nominated by the Golden Globe Award. In the wake of several successful commercial films such as World Trade Center in 2006 her name was recognized more widely in the role of Rachel Dawes (the superhero) in The Dark Knight (2007). Her performance in Crazy Heart as a mother with a single child received her a nomination for the Academy Award Best Supporting Actress. In addition to her role as a Secret Service agent, she has also appeared as a character in White House Down (2013) as well as Frank (2014). The most recent roles include her character as the primary protagonist of the film The Kindergarten Teacher (2018). Gyllenhaal composed and directed her debut film The Lost Daughter in 2021. The thriller that dealt with psychological issues was awarded the Best Screenplay Award from the Venice International Film Festival. The Lost Daughter was also nominated for be awarded the Academy Award of Best Adapted Screenplay.
